Seeton News Letter - Volume 1 - Number 7

Hello all,

First - apologies for missing last Sunday. We'd had wonderful afternoon in Oakville and I was too swamped to write it up that evening. It was great to see Granny & Grampa and Uncle Ian & Aunt Lori :)

The first two weeks back at school have been great. Balen is settling back into AMS in Grade 3. The current reading assignment is 'The Last of the Really Great Whangdoodles'. Tayin is loving his new school, HTS (Holy Trinity School) and is industriously learning his printing.

Hope all are well.

Cheers.

Seeton News Letter - Volume 1 - Number 6

Last 24 hours of Summer Vacation.

Just a short note as we gird ourselves for the coming week.

The boys are really excited about going back to school. Tomorrow will be a lot of final running around to get ready - labels, clothing, books, paper, pencils, etc.

This week was quiet, with Tayin in soccer camp and Balen at "Mad Science" camp - both boys had a lot of fun. Added bonus was seeing Grampa on Tuesday (Sorry we missed Grandma - hope she's feeling better).

Love to you all,
Cheers.

Seeton News Letter - Volume 1 - Number 5

After arranging to buy a new Air Conditioner, we've had to wait a week for the installation. During that week, the average temperature has dropped an easy 10oC - so now we're wondering: why dd we bother? They delivered it on Friday and this evening we turned on the gas fireplace.

Obie's leg and tooth are healing well, the stiches came out on Friday. We're trying to keep him down, but he has other plans and has started hopping down the stairs (Which, I guess is a good sign).

The boys were both in Karate camp this week and had a blast.

Mum & Dad - Sorry about today - look forward to seeing you soon.

Ian & Lori - Got your email with September dates, I'll let you know what we can sort out asap.

Pat - I might be able to work in the Stikine next summer - let me know if you want to pursue this.

Bruce - Hope all is well in the land of the midnight sun.

As always, I've posted a couple more pictures to the Maritime Expotition site:

Have a good week all, cheers.

Seeton News Letter - Volume 1 - Number 4

Somehow this week managed to be one of the hottest this summer - which mean that we felt the loss of the air conditioning - It's been over 80F ( 27C ) and super humid, so we haven't gotten much sleep
Obie's leg is healing well, but he managed to develop a dental abscess this week, so we took him back to the vet and had a tooth pulled. Dogs have this done under general anesthetic - and Obie really feels the narcotics. However, he is now getting better but he will be limping for a long time.

Balen & Tayin had a good week at camps - Balen was at a traditional 'Summer Day Camp' - Swimming, Canoeing, Nature stuff and Tayin was at a Sports camp.

We managed to survive the high excitement of the Tornadoes of 2009 on Thursday - just a lot of Sturm und Drang.

Otherwise things are good.

  • Mom & Dad - I'll give you a call in the morning to plan out Sunday. Hope the events on Saturday went well.

  • Ian & Lori - I hear rumour that you guys will be in Toronto in late September - Drop me a note letting me know when you're around and I hope we can arrange to get together.

  • Pat - Are you still tossing around coming out around Thanksgiving?

  • Bruce - Hope all is well - have you signed up for the Palin 2012 campaign yet?

  • I've posted more photos from the Maritime Expotition, for those you are interested. I still haven't got a narrative yet, but I'm working on it :)

Finally, I'm trying this as a 'Blog' to see if that makes it easier to keep track of. The email that sent this should have a link the http://seeton-newsletter.blogspot.com. Please take the time to follow/comment and let me know if this helps usability.
    Cheers all.

Seeton Ceidlih Volume 1 Edition 1

    Hello all,

This is primarily an experiment to keep everyone up to date on the comings
and goings of the Richmond Hill branch of the Seeton Clan and partially an
attempt to see what everyone is up to. I'm aiming for weekly on Sunday
    nights.

Right now, the four of us are in Charlottetown, PEI at the mid-point of our
Maritime tour. The weather was lousy for the first two days, but they were
primarily given over to driving out to Moncton, so no oppurtunities lost.
We've done the standards - Lunenburg, Peggy's Cove, the Citadel, Margarite
Beach (best surfing in Eastern Canada), Fortress Louisberg, Cape Breton
Island, Whale Watching tour from Pleasant Bay and finally the ferry across
to Wood Islands, PEI. Dimple celebrated her birthday in Halifa
x, with a lovely lighthouse from the boys. The boys are having fun,
although they think we're driving too much. I'll fill in more details in
    furture posts.

I have a couple of family messages:

    - Granny/Grampa - welcome back from the west coast - hope you guys a had a
    wonderful trip.
    - Bruce - Happy belated birthday - you must be what, 29 now?
    - Ian/Pat - Hope you guys are well, drop me a note and let me know what
    you're up to.
    - My cel phone is acting up (there was no signal at all on Cape Breton, and
now it's very intermittant - I think the phone is on vacation)

    Cheers all,
